The following contains major spoilers for Two-Face #3, on sale now from DC Comics.

Two-Face has just uncovered the true identity of his worst enemy - and they are closer than he could have possibly imagined.

After hunting down a rogue Baby Doll and missing Scarface, the titular villain of Two-Face #3 finally has time to get back to sniffing out leads regarding a far more personal mystery. Specifically, the identity of the mysterious Shadow Hand who has made it their mission to destroy everything that Two-Face has built. Unfortunately for Two-Face, the true identity of the Shadow Hand has always been right alongside him, or rather inside him, as it is his own other twisted persona orchestrating his slightly better self's downfall.

As has been told and retold time and time again, Harvey Dent's transformation into the villainous Two-Face lies in tragedy. Formerly a brilliant defense attorney, Harvey Dent eventually embarked upon a career as Gotham City's newest district attorney, as suggested by his old friend, Bruce Wayne. In the current, Prime Earth continuity, Dent's transformation was brought about after he was attacked by the deadly Erin McKillen, a member of the infamous McKillen crime family and one of Dent's former clients. After nearly losing his life and being disfigured, Dent developed a second personality, one obsessed with binary decision paths and amassing power through criminal endeavors of his own.

Over the years, Two-Face has stood as one of Batman's most capable and feared enemies. Though he wields no superpowers of his own, Two-Face's cunning and ruthlessness have been more than enough to cement his place in Gotham City's underworld, not to mention see him through countless otherwise deadly scenarios. Throughout his career, Two-Face has stood toe-to-toe and gone head-to-head with everyone from the Dark Knight to the Joker to Bane, and rarely if ever has anyone truly broken him for his efforts.

DC's most popular antivillain of all time just got dangerously close to one of Batman's worst enemies - and every single other version of him.

In more recent months, Two-Face has attempted to reclaim control of his life and return to his original career path, albeit in a far different kind of courtroom than he is used to. Specifically, Two-Face has begun defending clients in the hallowed halls of the White Church. Despite being organized and operated by Gotham's criminal underworld, the White Church still holds itself to a genuine judicial standard, only doling out punishments to those who have been found guilty by a jury of their usually costumed and/or superpowered peers. Unfortunately, Two-Face's attempt at a face turn has been met with some serious opposition on the part of the Shadow Hand, the leader of his very own rogues gallery.
