“Chapter One – The Exercise Of Power”

It has been one year since the vampire invasion of Earth was thwarted by Victor Von Doom. In the event now known as the Blood Hunt, Doom manipulated Doctor Strange, leading the Sorcerer Supreme to relinquish his title to the most corrupt magic user on the planet. With his new gained powers, Victor returned sunlight to the planet which the demons Adana and Varnae had cloaked within the Dark Dimension.

Soon after, Doctor Doom broke his word to Stephen Strange, and erected a magical barrier over his country of Latveria. There he retreated, taking the title of Earth’s mightiest sorcerer with him. Then silence.

Now Doom has returned to enslave the world he swore to protect. As governments and their militaries bend to Victor’s will, a handful of heroes band together to stop this latest threat to humanity. But will their numbers be enough to handle one world under Doom?!

Reviewer Notes

This is an exciting start to the event all Doom lovers have been waiting for! But, only three issues? Weird.

In any case, Ryan North is back as head writer and with him comes the return of Squirrel Girl and her friend Nancy Whitehead. I’m not sure how they will fit in with this mess, but it will be… unbeatable. I give issue #1 five out of five stars!
