The world of The Nightmare Before Christmas is coming back with another graphic novel from Dynamite Entertainment.

Per a press release from Dynamite Entertainment, critically acclaimed writer Torunn Grønbekk is officially behind the wheel of the next entry in one of the most beloved franchises of all time — Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town. Written by Grønbekk and featuring art by Edu Menna, colors by Adriano Augusto, and letters by Taylor Esposito, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town is set to mark the next grand misadventure to befall Halloween Town.

The story of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town is set to unfold after Dr. Finkelstein, the diminutive creator of fan-favorite Sally, unveils his latest masterpiece. Unfortunately, Sally is the one tasked with looking after this strange new being known as Shiver. Even worse, Dr. Finkelstein's latest creation quickly becomes the target of Lock, Shock, and Barrel, the three cantankerous trick-or-treaters behind Santa Claus' kidnapping in the original film, who are intent on bringing their latest quarry along with them on their trek to Christmas Town.

"The Nightmare Before Christmas is a feast of imagination and dark delights, and it has been a joy to play in and contribute to this world," writer Torunn Grønbekk said of the project. "In our story, little goes to plan: tricks are played, treats are had, and along the way, Dr. Finkelstein's new creation Shiver discovers the true magic of Halloween. Artist Edu Menna captures the gothic, whimsical atmosphere of the movie so beautifully, and I hope the book will introduce a new generation of readers to the enchanting world of [The Nightmare Before Christmas]."

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town is just the latest follow-up to the hit 1993 stop-motion animated film from Dynamite Comics. Back in June, Dynamite Entertainment published Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: Long Live the Pumpkin Queen Graphic Novel, which itself was based on Shea Ernshaw's 2022 New York Times best-selling novel. Written by Liz Marsham and illustrated by Alessio Petillo and Ismael Canales, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: Long Live the Pumpkin Queen Graphic Novel finds Sally settling into her new role as the Pumpkin Queen of Halloween Town following the events of the film. As Sally struggles to find exactly where she fits thanks to her newfound position, Zero unwittingly leads Sally on a journey into the depths of Dream Town, which is just as horrifying as it is fantastical.

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town goes on sale in January 2026 from Dynamite Entertainment.
