BOOM! Studios' next Power Rangers series is giving Tommy Oliver another shot at the spotlight.
The next Power Rangers series from BOOM! Studios has been revealed, and Power Rangers: Green might just be the Tommy Oliver story that fans didn't know they needed. Written by Paul Allor with art by Gustaffo Vargas, Power Rangers: Green will pick up years after the original series ended, with the original Green Ranger standing as the last of his kind in a world he barely recognizes.

The official solicit synopsis for Power Rangers: Green #1 from BOOM! Studios reads, "He's the last Power Ranger on Earth… but that doesn’t mean he’s alone. The world we know is long gone. Tommy Oliver has put away his Morpher and settled into a quiet life with his strange little family. But one day, an unexpected visitor from his past arrives on his doorstep and challenges him to take up the hero’s mantle once more. Can he relive the past with this unexpected ally? Will the Green Power Ranger finally return?"
While Power Rangers: Green will stand as its own limited series, fans won't actually have to wait for it to arrive before they can dive into it for themselves. Instead, readers can catch an early preview of the series courtesy of Power Rangers #0, which will be available on May 2 for Comics Giveaway Day on May 2.
BOOM! Studios Has More Power Rangers Comics On The Way
Image via BOOM!Power Rangers #0 will feature three new stories, each with something completely different to offer fans of the franchise. Apart from a sneak peek at Power Rangers: Green, Power Rangers #0 will also see an adult Billy call upon his retired teammates, as well as a story in which Rangers from across space and time must band together to tackle an entirely new threat.
As exciting as another Tommy-centric story might be, BOOM! Studios' Power Rangers: Green is far from the hottest anticipated title of 2026 that is related to the character. Instead, that honor goes to the upcoming Legend of the White Dragon feature film from Bat in the Sun Productions, which will finally be making its way into theaters after a more than five-year wait.
Directed by Bat in the Sun co-founder Aaron Schoenke from a screenplay co-written alongside Alex Kellerman, Legend of the White Dragon stars the late, great Jason David Frank as Erik Reed, better known as the eponymous White Dragon, a former superhero who is forced to run for his life after being framed for a heinous crime. Eventually, Erik makes his way back home in the hopes of clearing his name, reuniting with his family, and claiming some long-overdue justice.
Power Rangers: Green #1 from BOOM! Studios go on sale on August 5.
