With the release of the Marvel-published Deadpool/Batman one-shot last month, DC Comics is following suit with their own Batman/Deadpool one-shot next month. It’s the first crossover between the comic publishers in decades. After revealing details for the main Grant Morrison-written, Dan Mora-illustrated spectacular as well as characters and creators for the issue’s backup stories and variant covers, DC has unveiled a preview for the upcoming Batman/Deadpool crossover one-shot.
Morrison is no stranger to the Dark Knight but it’s been quite some time since the prolific writer played in the Marvel sandbox. In addition, it goes without saying Dan Mora is one of the most popular artists in the comics industry right now known for his ability in both quality and quantity. Mora and Morrison previously collaborated on the Klaus miniseries from Boom! Studios over a decade ago so this Batman/Deadpool crossover projects marks their first collaboration since then.
Given the success of these intercompany crossovers, it wasn’t surprising that the publishers have already announced a Superman/Spider-Man crossover for next year. Details, including creative teams, have yet to be revealed so keep your eyes peeled!
With a main cover price of $7.99 and cardstock variants priced at $8.99, the 64-page Batman/Deadpool is set to arrive in stores and digitally on Wednesday, November 19th.
