Prime Video is moving ahead with another Spider-Man television project after canceling Nicolas Cage’s Emmy-winning Spider-Noir after one season. The new series is expected to draw from Marvel Comics’ Clone Saga, a storyline centered on Peter Parker clones Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker. Deadline reported that the project is nearing a series order under Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television’s ongoing deal for shows tied to Sony’s Marvel characters. The news arrives as Spider-Man remains one of Hollywood’s few dependable box-office brands. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has earned about $951.8 million in North America and nearly $2.5 billion worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. The film is now the highest-grossing domestic release of all time and ranks third worldwide behind Avatar and Avengers: Endgame. Kelvin Yu, creator of Disney+’s American Born Chinese, will write the planned Clone Saga series. Sources told Deadline that Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller are expected to executive produce with Yu.
