Reacher’s Alan Ritchson Cleared by Police After Neighbor Brawl

1 week ago 19

Prime Video star Alan Ritchson, best known for his role in Reacher, was under investigation this week after a fight with a neighbor in Brentwood, Tennessee. The news surfaced when TMZ released video footage that appeared to show Ritchson repeatedly striking his neighbor before leaving on a motorcycle.

The short video quickly spread online, sparking debate about what led to the confrontation. At first, viewers only saw Ritchson throwing punches without knowing the full story. The neighbor, Ronnie Taylor, has since spoken to TMZ, filling in key details that suggest the incident was more complicated than it appeared.

If true, that’s nasty work. But celebrity headlines love drama, so I’m waiting for actual facts before acting like a TMZ caption is a court judgment

Taylor said he first clashed with Ritchson over the actor’s loud motorcycle. The two men exchanged middle fingers on Saturday. The next day, Ritchson returned on the bike with two others, reportedly his children. Taylor admitted he went outside to confront him again, which led to angry shouting between the men.

According to Taylor, he initiated the physical part of the fight. He told TMZ that he stepped in front of Ritchson’s motorcycle, causing the actor to fall, then dared him to throw a punch. Taylor said he even shoved Ritchson before the fight seen in the viral video began. Police later confirmed that both men received minor injuries. Ritchson’s own body cam footage also showed Taylor running onto the street to attack him first over a noise disturbance from the motorcycles.

The confrontation comes as Ritchson’s career is reaching new heights. Along with his work on Reacher, he recently wrapped filming on the Netflix movie War Machine and another project about Navy SEAL Mike Thornton. The productions highlight his growing demand in Hollywood. Police eventually concluded that Ritchson acted in self-defense, saying “after reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued. Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense,” Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin told The Hollywood Reporter. Ritchson has also declined to press any charges.

“Although a potential reckless endangerment charge was considered, Mr. Ritchson declined to pursue charges. With the agreement of the District Attorney’s Office, the case is now closed, and no further action will be taken,” said Pepin.
