Peddler’s Point Amusement Park — Summer of 1987 — the last of the visitors have left for the day, but the real work has just begun. A group of interns has just arrived on the island to help Mr. Gargola make repairs to the rides throughout the complex. Ever since the Fujimatso Corporation purchased the park from old man Peddler they have been gung-ho on turning the place into the next Disneyland. But did Disneyland buy their props from the army surplus warehouse?

Unknown to park security, elsewhere, a group of vagrant skateboarders have stayed past their welcome. With all the ferry boats cast off on their final departures, even the guards won’t be able to evict the punks from the park grounds. Is that radical, or what? Over the next few hours, those kids will wish they were still in Dogtown.

What secrets are entombed inside the barrels marked U.S. Army? Did DJ really spend a summer with the boys from Dogtown? Why is Mr. Gargola such a dillweed? Collect the series to find out!

Review

The zombies are back with American Mythology Productions’ Return of the Living Dead. Written by S.A. Check and James Kuhoric, all the vibe of the original movie is here. With the nostalgia settings turned up to eleven, any child of the 1980s should enjoy this story.

For older readers, however, Andrea Arcari’s art style might not be to your taste. American Mythology Productions does use a variety of artists for their comic books. For me, the style is a wrong fit for a 1980s horror story. It reminds me so much of the Japanese anime series Yu-Gi-Oh! from the year 2004. Not that Arcari’s work is bad. I just find the art too over the top.

If you’re a Mark Spears fan, this cover art is for you. His work seems to be everywhere in 2025. With all the elements combined, I give Return of the Living Dead a solid three out of five stars. Brains!
