The demand for Rob Liefeld's Youngblood is at an all-time high. Youngblood was one of the first comics that helped launch Image Comics, and is Liefeld's most popular independent comic. Rob Liefeld is back with a new volume of Youngblood, and Image Comics is rushing reprints of Issues #1 and #2 to keep up with the demand.

Image Comics announced that Youngblood #1 and Youngblood #2 have completely sold out at the distributor level. Fans are advised to head to their local comic shops to buy whatever inventory remains on the shelves, or else be forced to wait for the reprints of the first two issues.

“I cannot express the full appreciation I have to everyone who jumped back into the deep end of the Youngblood pool with me," said Liefeld. "There’s room in the tent for fans young and old! We are committed to making this reader friendly, entry level storyline in print as long as demand persists! Deep gratitude for the continued support!”

Rob Liefeld's Youngblood Helps to Launch the Image Revolution

Once upon a time, Rob Liefeld was one of the hottest creators on Marvel's X-Men line of comics. The outspoken Liefeld helped to rejuvenate The New Mutants, creating fan-favorite characters Deadpool, Cable, Domino, and many others. Liefeld helped to evolve The New Mutants into X-Force, with its first issue becoming the second-highest-selling comic issue ever.

Liefeld and six other creators left Marvel in the '90s to form Image Comics. Their defection from Marvel came to be known as the Image Revolution, and the original Youngblood #1 marked the opening salvo. The title is one of the bestselling independent comics of all time, with sales surpassing over $1 million copies.

The first issue of Youngblood sold out a week before the comic went on sale. Youngblood #1 arrived in comic shops on Nov. 12, and fans got their orders in early while clearing out shelves. Image sent the first issue back to print for a second printing that included a new cover by Rob Liefeld and a special Treasury Edition.

“This is the time for gratitude. Grateful to the Youngblood fans that have roared with their enthusiasm. Grateful to every retail partner that took the leap with their support. Grateful to comic stores, the backbone of our market, we rely on them to reach the masses," Liefeld said about the sellout.

"And I gotta express my thanks to everyone at Image Comics who provided guidance and enthusiasm. Enjoy this comic! The Road to Youngblood #100 starts here!”

Youngblood is currently on sale at comic shops, as well as digital storefronts.
