As DC Comics' Absolute Universe continues to get bigger and better than ever, creator Scott Snyder is already addressing its potential end. Luckily for fans, there's good news in store.

Snyder took the time to reply to a fan on social media, addressing whether there's an end in sight for the currently ongoing Absolute Universe storyline. "Do you have an endgame in mind with the Absolute line, like Marvel's Ultimate line? There's something to be said for a complete story, rather than dragging out plot lines for profit," the fan remarked. Snyder's reply was simple, but effective: "No end planned, no."

DC's Absolute Universe is Getting Bigger & Better in 2026

The Absolute Universe imprint of DC takes place in a shared universe, reimagining some of the comics' most iconic heroes with an interesting twist. It made its debut in 2024 as part of DC's All In initiative, launching with the ongoing series Absolute Batman, Absolute Wonder Woman, and Absolute Superman.

Now, two years later, the Absolute Universe is set to expand even further. It was recently announced that DC is preparing for the first major crossover event, with Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman's stories all set to collide in true, epic fashion. An exact release date has not been announced at this time, but DC Comics exec Chris Conroy confirmed it will arrive later this year.

While the mention of a new comics crossover might be daunting to some potential readers, it's also been designed to be easy for fans to enjoy, even if they aren't familiar with every issue released so far. "You're gonna be very excited to see what we can do with the canvas of a full-event miniseries," Conroy added. "This is going to tie the stories together in a way that I think people are going to get really, really, really pumped about."

New Limited-Run DC Absolute Universe Titles Are Also on the Way

While Snyder may have revealed there's no end in sight for the many ongoing series in the Absolute Universe, including the recently debuted Absolute Flash and Absolute Green Lantern, not all stories will last forever. Several limited-run series have already been announced for 2026.

Absolute Martian Manhunter, which debuted in March 2025, is set to conclude with its 12th and final issue later this year. Writer Deniz Camp gave fans a reassuring message about the conclusion, proving that DC is focusing on quality over quantity when it comes to the Absolute Universe. "If we had continued, I worried we'd fizzle out, lose some of the magic," Camp shared. "Right now, I feel that every issue of this book is special. I didn't want to jeopardize that."

Later this year, Absolute Martian Manhunter will be joined by two new limited series: Absolute Green Arrow and Absolute Catwoman, with Snyder being a writer for the latter. They are set to be published in May and June, respectively, with each planned for a six-issue run.

More details about the Absolute Universe's new titles, including its crossover event, are expected to follow in the coming months.
