Secret Invasion: The Amazing Spider-Man #1-3 (2008)

This is really a story about Jackpot, a new hero who is fully legal (i.e., registered with Tony Stark) and who looks like Mary Jane but isn’t Mary Jane even though the writers want you to think she’s Mary Jane and even though the most interesting thing about her is that she might be Mary Jane (which is why they want you to think she is Mary Jane–because without that mystery, she’s just dumb).

Spider-Man is barely in this as Jackpot fights skrulls.

And since she’s a look-a-like, I guess it’s fitting that her first solo outing is against shape-shifting impersonators.
