Secret Invasion: Thor #1-3 (2008-2009)

The skrulls didn’t just invade Earth.  They also are attacking New Asgard.  And guess who returns to help Thor stop them?

The story begins with Bill being captured by the skrulls, and they take his hammer.  Not sure why Bill’s hammer doesn’t have the same Mjolnir “nobody can lift it” spell, but okay.

He gets free. Big fights.

It ends with Bill heading back out into space to find “answers” for how and why the skrulls were able to capture and torture him.

Nothing bad here.  The creators are certainly talented.  But nothing indispensable either.
