She-Hulk Sensational One Shot (2010)

This one shot is apparently intended to mark She-Hulk’s 30-year anniversary. The title page tries to make her “important” but…She’s really not. And I like her. In fact, I think the Disney show starring She-Hulk is their second best program (after the magnificent Wonder Man, which was one of those rare superhero shows that elevates the content far beyond genre). But She-Hulk’s charm is that she’s not important. She doesn’t have the baggage of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, etc., which allows creators to experiment with her–using her to break the fourth wall, for example, as John Byrne did in his famous She-Hulk run, or to have her be an Amazon sexpot with Wyatt Wingfoot, or get nudes published in Playboy…She’s fun, not serious. Anyway, this one shot has three stories. In the first, she is taken through her past by the Ghost of Stan Lee. The story ends with her busting out of a cake. After getting her own version of Christmas Carol, she gets her own version of Ladies Night Out (a theme frequently used by comic book creators as an excuse to spotlight female heroes who, as we all know, are not the focus of most superhero books). It’s slightly better, but still feels thin....
