Star Trek: Strange New Worlds — The Seeds of Salvation #2 (by Robbie Thompson, Travis Mercer, JP Jordan, and Jodie Troutman) follows a trek into the watery depths of the planet Poilant in search of a missing team of Starfleet researchers. Chapel, Spock, La'An, Scotty and D6 find themselves poring over ominous sigils as a nefarious force plots against them from the shadows. Unfortunately, that nefarious force has taken hold of Chapel's friend and fellow scientist, Jinare. Worse still, Jinare's horrifying transformation is just the beginning of what Star Trek's latest plant zombies have in store for the galaxy.
