Street Fighter is officially getting a crossover story that no one could have seen coming. Newly revealed comic shop solicitations show Street Fighter vs. The Valiant Universe will arrive this July.

Bleeding Cool shared IDW's July 2026 solicits, which revealed the Tim Seeley and Alfred Cardona-led special. Cover art for the title shows Street Fighter's Cammy facing off against Bloodshot, with several variant covers also showing the two sparring. An exact release date has not been confirmed at this time, but the one-shot will hit stores in July. IDW Publishing is teasing the release as "two iconic entertainment franchises from the 90s unite for the most unexpected comics crossover of 2026."

The full solicit for Street Fighter vs. The Valiant Universe teases: "Cammy from Capcom's best-selling fighting game franchise Street Fighter collides with the nanite-enfused super soldier Bloodshot from Valiant Comics in this special crossover one-shot! Cammy and Bloodshot share dark pasts where they were used as living weapons against their will. Now free from their controllers, these two professional butt-kickers will come face-to-face as they raid a Shadaloo outpost deep in the heart of Africa!"

Along with the main story, an 8-page back-up story will also be included featuring Ninjak vs. Dhalsim. IDW teases that adventure as "a wild fantasy-fueled duel" by Timmy Heague and Rocio Zucchi. The one-shot is brought to readers by Alien Books, Valiant Comics, UDON Studios, and Capcom.

For Street Fighter fans who are unaware of The Valiant Universe, it is the fictional, shared universe where Valiant Comics' titles take place. Some of its notable print publications include Rai, Bloodshot, Ninjak, X-O Manowar, Eternal Warrior, and H.A.R.D. Corps. The Valiant Universe had its own film, similar to the upcoming Street Fighter release, with 2020's Bloodshot starring Vin Diesel as the title character. It was meant to start a franchise, but ultimately performed poorly.

Street Fighter is no stranger to live-action films, either. The first film adaptation of the franchise was released in 1994, with Jean-Claude Van Damme starring as Guile and Kylie Minogue as Cammy. Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li followed in 2009 with Kristin Kreuk as the title character. A reboot of the series is currently scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 16 from Paramount Pictures.

Street Fighter's Cammy may be set to face off against Bloodshot in IDW's one-shot crossover in July, but the character is already set to return in Paramount's upcoming film reboot later this year. Thai-Australian actress Mel Jarnson landed the role of Cammy in the film after previously starring as Nitara in 2021's Mortal Kombat reboot.

The Street Fighter film features an ensemble cast that includes Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, and Callina Liang as Chun-Li. Its story will see Chun-Li recruiting the two men as fighters, joining a martial arts tournament alongside other fighters in order to confront the villainous M. Bison (played by Oppenheimer and One Piece's David Dastmalchian).

IDW's Street Fighter vs. The Valiant Universe hits comic book shops this July.
