A dynamic new mural celebrating the legacy of Superman now brightens the intersection of Calle 27 de Septiembre and Bulevar Adolfo López Mateos in the Colonia Obregón neighborhood of León, Guanajuato, Mexico. Created by local artist José Alejandro Bhons, the large-scale artwork has become a standout addition to León's growing collection of urban murals, blending vivid artistry with a deep appreciation for pop culture.
Inspired by the release of the latest "Superman" film, Bhons began work during the movie's debut week and completed the project in August. The mural features multiple interpretations of Superman, including imagery drawn from both the new film and classic comic book depictions, alongside Krypto the Superdog from the recent cinematic release and Lex Luthor as he appears in "Superman: The Animated Series". Through this layered approach, the piece unites several eras of the Superman mythos in a single, cohesive visual narrative.
With its bold color palette, large scale, and attention to character detail, the mural captures the enduring cultural resonance of Superman while contributing to León's vibrant street art scene. It has quickly become a local attraction for fans, families, and visitors, reflecting the city's ongoing commitment to public art that celebrates imagination and creativity.
