The historic collaboration between DC Comics and Marvel Comics is set to captivate fans as SUPERMAN/SPIDER-MAN #1 (One-Shot) arrives in comic book stores on Wednesday, March 25th. The release marks a significant moment in the long-standing relationship between the two publishers, celebrating one of the most anticipated crossovers in modern comics. A companion issue from Marvel, Spider-Man/Superman #1, is scheduled to debut in April, further expanding the scope of this special event.
At the center of the release is a feature-length story titled "Truth, Justice, and Great Responsibility," crafted by writer Mark Waid with dynamic artwork from Jorge Jiménez. The creative team also includes colorist Tomeu Morey and letterer Tom Napolitano. The story follows Clark Kent and Peter Parker as they join forces to investigate a mysterious conspiracy—one that escalates into a far-reaching conflict involving Superman and Spider-Man against formidable foes Brainiac and Doctor Octopus.
In addition to the headline story, the one-shot features a diverse collection of seven short stories from some of the industry's most celebrated creators. Highlights include "The World's Finest" by Tom King and Jim Lee, and "Pages" by Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere. Writer-artist Sean Murphy contributes "Beyond the Cobwebs of Tomorrow," while Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber present "Jimmy Con Carnage."
The issue continues with "The Bridge" from Jeff Lemire and Rafa Sandoval, "Bias" by Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott, and concludes with "Blind Date," written by Gail Simone with art from Belén Ortega. Together, these stories showcase a wide range of storytelling styles and perspectives, offering fans a comprehensive celebration of both universes.
