The stars of the new "Superman" film, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, made a heroic appearance at the Empire State Building to celebrate both the movie's release and a heartfelt partnership with Best Friends Animal Society. Their visit served as the launch of a citywide pet adoption campaign offering free adoptions through July 10th.
The event featured a ceremonial lighting of the Empire State Building in Superman's iconic colors - blue, red, and yellow - symbolizing hope and compassion. While Corenswet portrays the Man of Steel and Brosnahan stars as Lois Lane, the real heroes of the day were the adoptable animals in need of forever homes. In a nod to Superman's loyal companion Krypto, Warner Bros. Pictures is covering all adoption fees at Best Friends locations and select network partners, encouraging people to "be a hero" and adopt a pet.
The campaign invites families to take home a new furry friend at no cost, with the goal of increasing adoption rates and supporting animal welfare. The partnership between Warner Bros. and Best Friends Animal Society emphasizes the film's themes of love, loyalty, and doing good - whether saving the world or saving a life.
"Superman" debuts in theaters and IMAX on July 11, 2025. This event marks one of several promotional appearances celebrating the film's release and reinforcing its message of heroism both on and off the screen.
