Wolverine Unlocks a Secret Memory That Sets Up His Next Solo Adventure in Exclusive X-Men Artwork

Wolverine is about to get back one long-lost memory that could change everything about his past and his present.

In an exclusive press release from Marvel Comics, fans can catch their first look at the Revelations Backup Story from the upcoming Giant-Size House of M #1. The Revelations Backup Story in question, written by Saladin Ahmed and illustrated by Martín Cóccolo, will see Wolverine finally uncover a long-lost memory back during the final days of the House of M, one that will set up things to come in the pages of the mutant anti-hero's own ongoing solo series.

The main story from Giant-Size House of M will continue following Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, as she is sent hurtling through time and across the Multiverse as part of an overarching plot carried out by an alternate version of the mutant powerhouse known as Legion. So far, Kamala has gone up against all manner of threats, including the Dark Phoenix, yet even the twisted cosmic raptor of yesteryear isn't the biggest problem she has to worry about. While Kamala doesn't know exactly what this new Legion is up to, it is clear that things will only get worse if she can't stop him.

Per the official synopsis for Giant-Size House of M #1 from Marvel Comics, "She's flown with the All-Different X-Men on their first mission, withstood the Dark Phoenix and survived the Age of Apocalypse — and now Ms. Marvel is rewarded with a world where mutants reign supreme! But beneath the gilded surface, this utopia is rotting with prejudice and oppression — and Kamala must find an unlikely ally in schoolteacher Kitty Pryde to help her learn to live in this brave new world. Marvel's original House of M storyline was set in motion by none other than Wanda Maximoff, better known as the Scarlet Witch, whose powers rewrote reality in its entirety following yet another devastating moment in her personal history. In doing so, Wanda gave rise to the reality of Earth-58163, in which mutantkind as a whole no longer suffered under the crushing weight of human bigotry or oppression. Instead, mutants everywhere flourished, with Magneto leading the royal family and government of Genosha, all while the likes of Wolverine were given new lives and positions of power of their own. Unsurprisingly, this artificial reality all came crumbling down eventually, even if it still maintains its place as a fan-favorite corner of the Multiverse.

Giant-Size House of M #1 is set to arrive on comic book store shelves everywhere this September.
