The following contains major spoilers for Supernatural #3, on sale December 17 from Dynamite Comics.
The Winchesters' beloved "Baby" has officially become their biggest problem in the Dynamite Entertainment comic book series.
Supernatural #3 (by Greg Pak, Eder Messias, Vincenzo Federici, Alessandro Ranaldi, Gerardo Gambone, Paquale Qualano, Ellie Wright, and Jeff Eckleberry) sees Dean and Sam Winchester make their way to the small town of Erie, Arizona, only for car troubles to leave them stranded in town just in time to deal with the threat of a murderous necromancer. Unfortunately, that isn't their only problem, as the duo quickly discovers that their iconic ride has taken on a mind of her own, and she is ready to take them straight down the highway to Hell.

The official solicit synopsis for Supernatural #3 from Dynamite Entertainment reads, "IT’S ALL FUN AND GAMES UNTIL SOMEBODY GETS TURNED INTO A ZOMBIE! Sam and Dean find themselves in a small town in Massachusetts, where a group of live-action role players have recently survived a mysterious attack in the woods that left one of their members missing."
"Determined to save their friend, the LARPers are heading back into the forest for a new adventure, but this time they’ll be armed with real weapons — as well as the hard-won occult knowledge of the accompanying Winchester brothers! Dungeon masters GREG PAK and EDER MESSIAS roll for initiative with their third issue of SUPERNATURAL — featuring custom character designs by CLAYTON CRAIN, DREW MOSS, ANDREA BROCCARDO, and a special cast PHOTO cover adding +2 charisma!"
The black and chrome 1967 Chevrolet Impala, affectionately referred to as Baby, has been a mainstay of the Supernatural franchise since the series began back in 2005. Not only is Baby the Winchesters' ride and occasional home, but the vehicle also houses their regular arsenal of monster and demon-hunting weapons and accoutrements. Although Baby was never a character unto itself, the Impala was absolutely treated as such by the series' leading characters and was a key fixture in numerous episodes and storylines.
While the original Supernatural television series came to a close after 15 seasons and 327 episodes back in 2020, the franchise itself has lived on through a variety of new releases. Among the most notable of these was the short-lived prequel series, The Winchesters, which starred Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger as Sam and Dean's future parents, Mary Campbell and John Winchester. The series was a hit with longtime fans, yet failed to garner the attention needed to continue running past its first season.
Fortunately, Supernatural fans can still look forward to further stories in the world of their favorite franchise thanks to Dynamite Entertainment's ongoing comic book series. As explained by Supernatural writer Greg Pak, "We're setting our stories basically near the end of the first season, when it was really a monster of the week show with these guys on the road and every episode is a self-contained story with new locations, new characters, and a new monster."
