The Avengers will clash against kaiju before taking to the silver screen against Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel Comics revealed the Earth's Mightiest Heroes will face off against the King of Monsters, Godzilla, in Godzilla VS. Avengers #1, arriving in June. Eisner Award-winning writer David F. Walker will scribe the issue with artist Georges Jeanty helping him bring the one-shot to life. Set during Brian Michael Bendis' New Avengers era, the story will take on a Rashomon-style unreliable narrator concept to recount a battle involving Godzilla, Marvel’s resident dragon Fin Fang Foom, the Avengers, and Jet Jaguar.

Walker shared his excitement about authoring the unlikely crossover in an official press release: "As a child, I was raised on Godzilla movies, and as an adult, the New Avengers was a beautiful reminder of why I love comics," Walker said. "The lineup of characters in the New Avengers was a beautiful mix of quirky personalities and big adventures that kept me coming back every month. Bringing Godzilla and the New Avengers together for an epic showdown has allowed me to work with characters I have loved for a long time, in a way that I hope is as entertaining for fans to read as it was for me to write."
Artist Georges Jeanty added: "There are few things in life that feel better than when you get to recreate your childhood passions as a 'serious' adult. Drawing this one-shot allowed me to package two things I loved in my youth, Godzilla and the Avengers, and put it in a comic book! It has been a joy drawing these pages. I hope everyone who picks up this book will see all the love that went into it."

Godzilla vs. Avengers is the latest in an ongoing collaboration between Marvel and the King of Monsters. The issue joins Godzilla VS. Fantastic Four #1 set in the Silver Age, a 1970s-inspired Godzilla VS. Hulk #1, Godzilla VS. Spider-Man #1 with black-suited Spider-Man, and Godzilla VS. X-Men #1 set during the mutant team's 1990s era.
Marvel fans and Godzilla followers can find this comic at comic shops and digital platforms in June.
