As The Boys heads towards its final episode of its five-season run, Dynamite Entertainment is offering up a Humble Bumble that will allow fans to collect every comic book story featuring The Boys ahead of the TV show adaptation's finale.
As a fun exclusive for CBR readers, Dynamite is allowing us to share a FULL issue from the run for fans to read to get a sense of how the original The Boys series came to an end, including the death of a major character.
What is the description of The Boys Humble Bumble?

Bloody good graphic novels are here—follow the gruesome adventures of Billy Butcher, Starlight, A-Train, and The Boys as they take on Vought and Homelander with The Boys: TheHere Grand Finale Bundle by Dynamite Comics! This collection of graphic novels is not for the faint of heart—but if you enjoy hyper-violence, action, suspense, and a gritty take on the superhero genre, then this series is for you. Don’t wait another second—pay what you want for the complete main story and the hottest additional content like The Boys: Dear Becky #1–8.
For at least $10, you would get the first four trade paperbacks of The Boys, while for $18, you would get ALL thirteen trade paperbacks in The Boys comic book universe. So you can see what the comic books that the TV show were based on were like, and how the comic ended things ahead of the TV show, which presumably will have a different ending.
Which character died in the excerpted The Boys issue?
The character of The Legend, played by Paul Reiser, made his debut on The Boys TV series in the third season, and he is confirmed to be returning in the fifth and final season, so it is possible that we actually get this issue adapted into the TV series in some way, shape, or form.
The Legend is a comic book editor who works for Vought-American, and he is an expert in everything about superheroes, and so he has been an important unofficial member of The Boys as their informant, and the guy who fills them in on superhero history in their world.
The character was intended as a parody of Stan Lee, and that concept has basically continued on the TV show, with Reiser's depiction of the character.
The above excerpted issue is 2012's The Boys #67, by writer Garth Ennis, artist Russ Braun, colorist Tony Aviña, and letterer Simon Bowland. This was just five issues before the end of the series, and it involved the end game of the series, where Hughie slowly learned that Butcher has gone over the bend, choosing to hate superheros so much that he plans on killing BILLIONS of people to get rid of any chance of other superheroes developing.
The Legend obviously knows about Butcher's plans, and so Butcher kills him to keep The Legend from tipping Hughie off (meanwhile, we see that Butcher has killed Mother's Milk's ex-wife to keep her from distracting Mother's Milk).
The Humble Bumble ends tomorrow! Get it now!
