Fans finally know exactly when every single episode of The Boys Season 5 is set to premiere, and the end is nigh. After a long wait, the superhero series is coming back for the fifth and final season.

Per a recent Xpost from the official The Boys social media account, the first two episodes of Season 5 will both be premiering on Prime Video on Apr. 8. After that, a new episode debuts every Wednesday up through the series finale on May 20.

The Boys Kicked Off a Major R-Rated Superhero Universe

Based on Garth Ennis and Derrick Robertson's hit indie comic book series of the same name, The Boys premiered in 2019 and introduced audiences to a world full of the absolute worst superheroes imaginable. The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, leader of the eponymous group of antiheroes who work tirelessly to curb the efforts of the world's leading superhero team, The Seven, and their corporate overlords at Vought International.

Since its debut, The Boys has proven to be an overwhelming success with critics and audiences alike. The series has also expanded out in multiple directions with spinoffs like the live-action Gen V and the animated anthology The Boys Presents: Diabolical. The franchise is even slated for multiple new spinoff series to come, including The Boys: Mexico and the upcoming prequel series Vought Rising.

Streaming series creator and showrunner Eric Kripke has even discussed the future of the wider franchise, noting "We have a plan for Gen V Season 3, and we're psyched about it, but we need enough viewers to watch Season 2 to justify Season 3... Same applies to Vought Rising Season 1. We have plans for a Season 2, if we can. They've been nothing but supportive, and they're giving us our opportunities. But it's a business and we also have to deliver. So hopefully the audience shows up."

What Can The Boys Fans Expect from the Series' Fifth and Final Season on Prime Video?

Just last month during the Los Angeles premiere of his latest feature film, The Bluff, star Karl Urban promised fans that "Nobody is safe" going into The Boys Season 5, and that audiences can expect "Fatalities from the get-go." Urban added, "Just look forward to the whole thing coming to a big crescendo."

During a more recent appearance at Emerald City Comic Con this past weekend, The Boys star Laz Alonso explained that, while Season 5 is certainly going to be a brutal affair to say the least, the final trailer for the final season "Somehow mastered masking and hiding everything you're about to see, which is going to be a lot this year."

The Boys is currently available for streaming on Prime Video. The two-episode premiere of Season 5 takes place on Apr. 8.
