“All Pieces Of Fear!”
Note: This story is a continuation of Giant-Size Werewolf By Night #02 (1974)
Frankenstein’s Monster arrived at La Guardia Airport searching for answers. His recent encounter with the Werewolf By Night has left a sour taste for Los Angeles in his mouth. If there is someone who can aid him in New York City, so much the better. The first challenge, however, will be sneaking past the baggage handlers who are unloading the passenger jet in which he stowed away. Those horse races aren’t going to bet on themselves. Surprise, boys!
Elsewhere, in a Lower Manhattan basement laboratory, a determined geneticist is about to rediscover a miracle last perfected by Victor Von Frankenstein himself. That is, if his family would just leave him alone. Steven Caccone is obsessed with the secret of life and death.
“Six Strange Words”
Words are just words, until they are organized into a specific phrase. Then they can move mountains. In the case of the traveling salesman and the wizard, six strange words can do so much more.
Review
Frankenstein’s Monster seems out of place no matter which century he is living in. It’s fun watching him roaming around in modern times, but I can already see the writing on the wall. Young Ralph Caccone appears to be the Monster’s Rick Jones (the Incredible Hulk‘s sidekick). The real question is if the Marvel fans want or need a second Hulk running around. I guess we will see.
I give this issue of Frankenstein four out of five stars. The writing is solid. The art is well done. Will it be enough to give the series longevity?
