The most important person in Spider-Man's life is officially his worst nightmare in the Age of Revelation.

After a particularly painful reunion with both Miles Morales and the Gwen Stacy better known as Ghost Spider, the titular hero of Radioactive Spider-Man #2 (by Joe Kelly, Kev Walker, Cam Smith, Chris Sotomayor, and VC's Joe Caramagna) brings his old allies back to the secluded underground hideaway he calls home. Unfortunately, there is no way that Peter could have expected his beloved Aunt May's temper to swing so swiftly towards burning rage at the mere sight of another version of the girl who died so many years ago. Worse still, there is nothing Peter can do to stop May from transforming into her worst self, nor to quell the hulking monstrosity that emerges from it.

Maybelle Parker, better known simply as Aunt May, has been a part of Spider-Man's story from the very beginning. Introduced right alongside the Wall-Crawler himself in Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's opening story from 1962's Amazing Fantasy #15, Aunt May raised Peter alongside his Uncle Ben following the tragic loss of his parents. In the decades that followed, May has remained both a mainstay of nearly every single very of Peter's story, but his moral compass and strongest supporter.

Marvel Comics' Age of Revelation event brings readers ten years into the future, not to a twisted alternate version of the Marvel Universe, but to what will come of the one they know best. Marvel Comics' Executive Editor and Conductor of X Tom Brevoort previously described the lasting impact of the Age of Revelation, explaining, "Going into January and beyond, we're kind of in the shadow of tomorrow, where the events going forward will all kind of live in the umbra of these events that we have just witnessed. We've just seen things that have happened to all these characters 10 years down the line."

One of the deadliest Marvel villains of all time is about to make her comic book comeback in the most hotly anticipated crossover title of 2026

Despite the overwhelming presence of the mutant powerhouse known as Revelation (formerly Doug Bradley, aka Cypher) and his multiple armies, Spider-Man has remained surprisingly present in the Age of Revelation. Rather than losing his life to Revelation's forces or the overtly treacherous if lush terrain, Spider-Man has continued in his fight against the forces of evil, whatever form they may take. To ensure he can do so, Spider-Man has taken to dosing himself with what should be lethal amounts of radiation to keep the X-Virus that decimated most of the country from running its course, much to the detriment of his own health and stability.
