What a time to have had a Lilo & Stitch renaissance on your bingo card. The House of Mouse is doubling down on the success of Experiment 626's comeback with Marvel Comics' newly announced Stitch-centric variant covers.
Disney's recent remake of the 2002 classic is considered one of the company's most successful live-action experiments, earning a 93% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and raking in $335.8 million domestically and $772 million globally at the box office. Disney further banked on that success with an already greenlit sequel and a Stitch solo comic book series from the dream duo James III (The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish) and Connor Ratliff (Dead Eyes podcast, George Lucas Talk Show).
Per a June 26 press release, the adorable alien is set to rub shoulders with other iconic characters under the Disney umbrella, gracing the front page of Avengers, X-Men, Captain America, and Amazing Spider-Man comic book issues.

Stitch Variant Covers Coming from Marvel Comics this September
It's official: the critter formerly known as Experiment 626 will take to Marvel's 616 starting this September. Stitch is slated to appear in a special series of Marvel variant covers in a creative bit of corporate synergy; Stitch's self-titled comic book series launches in August, and the September release is likely in the blast radius of the Disney+ drop of Lilo & Stitch (2025). A press release announcing the collection included first looks at the variant covers and, as one might expect, Stitch up to his usual mischief. Each issue reimagines the title's 100th issue cover page, only this time they're disrupted by some classic Stitch hijinks.
The charming crossover not only puts Stitch alongside a host of top-tier heroes, but a fleet of Marvel's finest artists bring the scenes to life. Paco Medina (New X-Men, Deadpool, Legendary Star-Lord), Phil Noto (Uncanny X-Force, Birds of Prey, Star Wars: Poe Dameron, and former Disney animation clean-up artist on The Lion King, Pocahontas, Lilo & Stitch, and other films), Humberto Ramos (Runaways, The Spectacular Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man), Ben Su (Directing Animator at Pixar, Marvel cover artist) and Luciano Vecchio (Spider-Verse Vs Venomverse, Uncanny X-Men) are among the assembled.
