The following contains major spoilers for Amazing Spider-Man #68.Deaths, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
Marvel's Unstoppable Juggernaut may have just surpassed his own patron god in terms of raw power.
With the titular hero of Amazing Spider-Man #68.Deaths having met his end at the hands of the Blight-possessed Scion of Cyttorak known as Callix, it has fallen on the shoulders of the X-Men to turn back the threat at hand. Unfortunately, every single member of the team has also been possessed by the Blight, all save for Cain Marko. As it turns out, the strength of Cyttorak flowing through his veins has made the Juggernaut completely immune to the Blight's touch. And, if that weren't impressive enough, the Juggernaut's power is so great that not even his own patron god can take it away from him.

Introduced all the way back in 1965's X-Men #12 by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Alex Toth, the unstoppable force of nature known as the Juggernaut grew up as Cain Marko, the begrudging stepbrother of none other than the X-Men's own founder - Charles Xavier. Where Charles was encouraged by their father, Cain was berated and abused, instilling a profound sense of hatred in the latter towards the former. After being sent to Korea during his time in the United States Army, Cain discovered a temple built in Cyttorak's honor, as well as the mystical ruby that imbued him with all the power that the demonic god had to offer.
Although the Juggernaut built his reputation on being a supervillain, he has since come around to the other side of the fight. Over the course of decades, Cain Marko not only came to terms with his traumatic upbringing, but with his place in the world. Determined to leave behind a better legacy for himself, the Juggernaut slowly built a new reputation for himself as an unlikely hero, even becoming an outright ally to the likes of the Savage Avengers. During the Krakoan Era, the Juggernaut's place as a hero was cemented with his induction into the then-latest iteration of the X-Men.

Although the Juggernaut is empowered by Cyttorak and has long served as a herald of sorts for his patron god, the Scions of Cyttorak are an entirely different breed of villain. These infernal entities have emerged as part of the latest in an ongoing series of gauntlets between themselves and the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. Usually, the Scions of Cyttorak would face off against Doctor Strange, though with the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme currently belonging to Doctor Doom, the duty of battling the Crimson Cosmos' most capable warriors fell on the shoulders of Spider-Man instead. After being chosen as Doctor Doom's champion, Spider-Man fought valiantly against every Scion who came his way, at least up until his spirit was broken completely. When Peter decided to step away from the battlefield, he broke the mystic contract he had entered into, inadvertently opening the door for the Blight to invade the primary Marvel Universe and ensuring his own untimely demise.
