Wolverine is coming back to headline another entry in one of Marvel Comics' most beloved anthology series.
Per Marvel Comics' official solicits for January 2026, Wolverine will be taking center stage in the next Black, White & Blood series, though not necessarily in the way readers are used to. Rather than offering another fairly generic anthology experience, Logan: Black, White & Blood will explore key moments from the eponymous mutant antihero's personal history, ranging from hidden chapters of his military service to hunting serial killers in the 1970s to the immediate aftermath of his escape from the Weapon X program.
Logan: Black, White & Blood #1
- Written by TOM WALTZ; SALADIN AHMED; and LARRY HAMA
- Art by ADAM KUBERT; ALEX LINS; and DAVE WACHTER
- Main cover art by ALEX MALEEV
- Variant covers by ADAM KUBERT; ANDREA SORRENTINO; and WOO-CHUL LEE
The official solicit synopsis for Logan: Black, White & Blood #1 from Marvel Comics reads, "Wolverine, A.K.A. Logan's long and violent history is showcased in brand-new tales by top tier talent in brutal black, white and red! Tom Waltz and Alex Lins reveal Logan’s never-before-revealed military service during the 1950s – with a secret connection to a fan-favorite Marvel character! A mission in seedy 1970s Times Square puts Logan on the trail of a deranged serial killer, as told by Saladin Ahmed and Adam Kubert. Survival is the name of the game after Logan escapes from Weapon X – by Larry Hama and Dave Wachter."
The Black, White & Blood format was introduced back in 2020 with the release of the very first series in the line, Wolverine: Black, White & Blood. The series was a major hit with readers, and soon enough, a whole host of other Marvel Comics icons were receiving the same Black, White & Blood treatment. So far, Carnage, Deadpool, Elektra, Moon Knight, Spider-Man, Venom, and the world of Marvel Zombies have all been featured in their own Black, White & Blood titles, as have numerous other Marvel heroes and villains in the pages of the still ongoing Marvel: Black, White & Blood and Guts.
Even characters from outside the Marvel Universe have been showcased in their own Black, White & Blood specials. To the delight of fans everywhere, both the Alien and Predator franchises received four-issue Black, White & Blood miniseries. The Black, White & Blood format has also been applied to the Star Wars universe, with Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and Boba Fett all starring in editions of the anthology released in 2023, 2024, and 2025, respectively.
Logan: Black, White & Blood #1 goes on sale Jan. 14, 2026 from Marvel Comics.
