The Witcher fans will soon be able to enjoy one of the franchise's original short stories in a new adaptation — along with a new introduction for a powerful and beloved character. Dark Horse Comics has announced The Witcher: The Last Wish in collaboration with CD Projekt Red.
The sixth graphic novel adaptation from Andrzej Sapkowski's acclaimed short story collection, The Witcher: The Last Wish will see Geralt protecting Dandelion as well as a new introduction to the powerful sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg. Dark Horse's new offering is carefully adapted by CD Projekt Red editor/writer Marcin Zwierzchowski, with the English adaptation by Stefan Kiełbasiewicz. It includes art by Guillermo Fajardo (Grimm Fairy Tales), colors by Neeraj Menon (Star Wars: Darth Vader) and letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou (The Witcher: Corvo Bianco). The Witcher: The Last Wish will go on sale Aug. 11, 2026 and will be priced at $19.99.
Dark Horse ComicsDark Horse's description of the graphic novel teases the dangers awaiting Geralt and Dandelion with the arrival of a supernatural djinn. "Driven by unhealthy curiosity, Dandelion breaks a magic seal and unleashes a djinn whom he hopes will grant his wishes. Instead, the creature attacks him, leaving him with wounds only a mage can heal."
Luckily, the quick-witted Geralt has a solution — but it comes with its own dangers, too. "Geralt rushes the bard to a nearby town, but in a city where casting spells carries heavy penalties, there is only one sorceress who might help — Yennefer of Vengerberg. Despite her beauty, grace, and zeal, can she be trusted? With the djinn set loose, Geralt is at the mercy of magic. And as a struggle for power and control begins, wishes are made, but whose are being granted?"
The Last Wish joins previous adaptations (A Grain of Truth, The Lesser Evil, A Question of Price, The Edge of the World and The Witcher), and will be presented by Dark Horse in a beautiful hardcover graphic novel volume format. It features cover art by Kai Carpenter (Books of Magic, The Last God).
"This story is really special, as it introduces one of the most important characters in Geralt's life — Yennefer," Zwierzchowski teased. "And what an introduction it is! She’s fierce, and as beautiful as she is dangerous. We needed to get Yennefer right. And when I saw Guillermo’s first designs for her, and saw how he captured this duality in her, I knew the whole story would now work."
Geralt & Yennefer Cross Paths in Dark Horse's New Adaptation

The character is portrayed by Anya Chalotra in the Netflix series and was voiced by Denise Gough in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt video game.
For over a decade, Dark Horse Comics has published comic books based on CD Projekt Red's The Witcher franchise, featuring mostly original stories not authored by the franchise's creator, Andrzej Sapkowski. The comics are set in the same universe as the video games, with CD Projekt Red typically overseeing their creation and ensuring they reflect the same visual style and continuity.
Dark Horse's The Witcher: The Last Wish graphic novel will be available in bookstores and comic shops on Aug. 11 and 12, 2026 and is available for pre-order now.
