As you can see from the cover, this is the issue where Thor finds Sif in mortal form and makes her a God again.
But that’s a misdirect.! Hiemdall begins to see “darkness” that is hiding the dormant Gods from his vision, and when Thor goes to investigate he finds a prison full of dormant Asgardians (in human form) guarded by the Destroyer armor. After a terrific battle scene, we see that the armor was controlled by Balder the Brave. (I admit that this part of the story was a bit hard to follow.).
After freeing Balder, Thor pursues a mysterious dark-haired woman, expecting that it will be Sif but …
It’s Loki! As a girl!
And at the end of the issue, it’s revealed to the reader (not to Thor), that Loki is working Doctor Doom to trick Thor into freeing his enemies as well (Enchantress, Hela, Frost Giants, etc.).
Then some of the Asgardians go to a town hall to get cake.
