Tom Hardy Teaming With Scott Snyder For Bold New Sci-Fi Saga

Tom Hardy's debut comic book series, Arcbound, saw him teaming up with Scott Snyder and Dark Horse Comics to launch a bold new sci-fi saga. Next month, fans will be able to collect the first volume of the exciting new series.

Dark Horse recently announced Arcbound, Vol. 1, releasing in bookstores on Jan. 20 and following in comic book shops on Jan. 21, 2026. The publisher's solicit for the series reads: "In a future where Earth has become a barren wasteland, Zynitec harnesses the unmatched energy of Kronium to assert its dominion across the stars. When Kai, a rising star Mediator in Zynitec’s army, is betrayed by his own and left for dead, everything he thinks he believes is thrown into question — and leaves him to discover what it truly means to be human in a world where the boundaries of technology and identity blur."

Arcbound, Vol. 1 sees Hardy working with comic book veterans like Snyder, known for Batman and Justice League, as well as Frank Tieri and Ryan Smallman. The first issue of the series was released in November 2024, and Dark Horse's new collected volume will let fans read the first six issues of the 12-issue epic sci-fi event.

Speaking in Dark Horse's press release that announced the series back in 2024, Hardy talked about working on the ambitious project. "I've always been drawn to the creative process in all aspects of storytelling–one of the biggest reasons I love comics is that the canvas is limitless, a vast expanse to explore the human condition, character depth, and boundless realms, all only limited by our collective imagination," he shared. "It's an honor to work alongside such legends as Scott, Frank, and Ryan in helping to bring the Arcbound universe to life."

Snyder added: "I've been lucky enough throughout my career to work with some of the biggest, most inventive talents in the industry. So when I was given the opportunity to work with Frank Tieri, Ryan Smallman, and, of course, Tom Hardy, I jumped at it. These are all creators that have an innate understanding of how characters tick and what makes their narratives sing across all kinds of media. Getting to craft a brand-new universe with such immense creative voices is beyond a treat for me, and I can't wait to share what we've been crafting this past year with all of you. Arcbound is going to blow you away!"

It may have taken over a year for Arcbound to publish its first volume, but it's clear that Hardy, Snyder, and the rest of the creative team have big plans for the comic book world. Nick Rose, CEO of Arcbound Studios, talked about how Hardy's new endeavor could soon be appearing in other forms of media that fans are more used to seeing the actor appear in. "We're crafting something truly special, with the thrilling potential to leap off the pages and come to life in film and other media. I can't wait for fans to experience this epic journey."

Writer Frank Tieri also talked about the future of Arcbound, adding: "The world building's been fun, we’ve got some cool plans for the current series and for the future... and we’ve all had a blast doing it. And I think it really shows in the work."

Arcbound, Vol. 1 heads to bookstores on Jan. 20, 2026 and follows in comic shops on the following day.
