“Return From The Grave!”
Highgate Cemetery – Midnight, the arm shot up from inside the exposed coffin, gripping Dracula with vice-like strength. The skeletal hand was fixed tightly around his undead throat using some unexplainable supernatural phenomena even the prince of evil could not explain. What was this fiend? How dare it lay hands on the lord of darkness! Dracula would prevail. He always did.
Elsewhere, in the oriental district of London, a courier has arrived with a new test subject for Dr. Sun. The corpse looks fresh, which pleases the ghoul-like scientist. Would this vampire subject unlock all of its secrets? Dr. Sun was growing impatient. His time was greatly reduced. If he could unlock the secrets of immortality, the world would be his oyster.
What monstrosity has risen from Highgate Cemetery? How does it have the power to toss Dracula aside like an old rag doll? Can Scotland Yard convince Quincy Harker to aid them in their official investigation? Collect the series to find out!
Review
Outstanding plot! Marv Wolfman is the king of cliffhangers and a master at writing soap opera horror. In issue number #16 of Tomb of Dracula, Wolfman proves there are many things that go bump in the night. Sometimes they bump harder than blowhard vampire lords. This comic book receives five stars from me on all levels.
