The golden era of superhero storytelling in cinema will continue in 2026, but, this time, it's not exclusive to the creations of Marvel Comics/Studios and DC Comics/Studios. A new hero enters the cinematic battlefield this time around, and it's none other than He-Man, when Masters of the Universe, but before the 'insane' live-action film hits theaters, there's more comic book greatness to come.
Thanks to the good folks over at Dark Horse Comics, the world will have plenty more to enjoy from Prince Adam Glenn and his band of compatriots as Skeletor attempts to do what he does best: try and conquer the world at the expense of the Masters of the Universe.
In a new arc that began with The Battle of Snake Mountain, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #5 begins a new storyline with visuals that jump off of the cover and right out of the panels, and from the mind of Tim Seeley, no less, known for his work with both He-Man and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
"On one hand, you have the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, one of the most celebrated indie comic books to ever see released. On the other, you have Masters of the Universe, a toy property-turned-television show synonymous with Generation X. When combined together, the end result is a delectable treat not only for kids of the 1980s and 1990s, but comic readers everywhere."—CBR

Skeletor Has the Sword of Flaws, He-Man
Courtesy of Dark Horse ComicsThe most powerful sorcerer around, He-Ro, possesses the Power Sword, able to access the full power of Grayskull, but concerned that so much power shouldn't be assigned to a single totem, He-Ro sought to create a second blade, but it turned into the corrupted Sword of Flaws — ultimately hiding the blade in Eternia, but that plan didn't last, Skeletor finding and taking possession of it. The series has already drawn a ton of praise from fans and critics alike, including from CBR, Screenrant and more.
“Dark Horse’s new Masters of the Universe: Revolution comic is essential reading for fans of the Netflix show, as it peels back Hordak’s layers, giving him the ‘Year One’ treatment.”—Screen Rant
There is no shortage of star power behind the creation of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #5 and it also includes a combined resume that features work down on The Amazing Spider-Man. So if you're a fellow fanatic of the legendary He-Man, but also can't sit still until Master of the Universe lands in 2026, heading to your local comic books store to place a pre-order for the March 2026 release of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #5 seems like the perfect medicine for what ails you.
