It’s almost always the “regular guys” who are the coolest just for being “regular”. Like the Imperial Guard in Warhammer 40K; in a universe where everything else is a genetically-engineered super-soldier, an ancient alien race with technology indistinguishable from magic, an intergalactic eating machine, and/or actual demons from literal Hell, these men and women take to the field with nothing more than a flak jacket, a glorified laser pointer, and *balls of steel*.
