Are we out of ideas here? We just had a multi-issue arc where Mister Sinister screwed with Professor X’s head and tried to possess him.
Now we get to question his entire reason for being. A reason Cyclops supported for decades’ worth of comics until he got disillusioned.

But apparently, Cyke thinks he has the right to be righteous–despite having supported X’s vision.
Emma Frost also screws with the Professor’s head by forcing him to relive past decisions he’s made that were of questionable moral value.

She even makes poor old Professor X cry.
First of all, potkettleblack. Emma Frost has a long and well-established history of being villainous.
Second, enough already. In addition to X’s walk down memory lane, Rogue goes to the old X-base in Australia to reminisce.
It feels like writer Mike Carey is telling the reader, “Remember when there were cool X-Men books and all this cool stuff happened?”
It ends with Cyclops and Xavier shaking hands, apparently now willing to let bygones be bygones after Emma bullied Charles into remorse and regret.
Everyone involved: Professor X, Scott and Emma, are assholes in these issues. They’re mean, they lack personal awareness, and they just pick on each other.
Enough with the clip shows. Let’s get to some real content.
There are a couple pages reminding us that Sebastian Shaw is re-forming a new Hellfire Club. They’ll be the big threat in the next story arc, which will cross over with Wolverine: Origins, which also happens to be the worst X-title on the stands at the time.
