Fantastic Four v1 #26, 1964 - Alone against the Hulk, the Thing stands his ground until fate intervenes. The mighty Avengers arrive, but Rick Jones is abruptly taken hostage. Can the combined might of two super-teams (who incidentally meet for the first time) save him from the Hulk? Jack Kirby's story art is largely diminished by the uninspired inking. His cover, however, deserves kudos for fitting all the characters together in a single scene. This story was later reprinted in Fantastic Four Annual #4 and Giant Superhero Holiday Grab Bag / Marvel Treasury Special #NN. This is 26 of 116 Fantastic Four issues by Kirby.
