After a brief Hulk cameo, Mr. Lao the dragon sends Jimmy Woo’s crew to take on Suwan, aka Jade Claw, a Golden Age ingenue (and Jimmy Woo’s ex-GF) who makes her Earth 616 debut here. She has a criminal organization called Great Wall and a giant robot, as well as some dragons. Human Robot takes care of Suwan’s robot.
And Venus punches out Jade Claw.
In the end, Jimmy is able to get Temugin to mentor Suwan and try to create an alliance between Great Wall and the Atlas Foundation, so that the organizations operate in alignment in the future.
The final panels have Mr. Lao and Yao (Suwan’s dragon) saying that “the great game has returned.”
This series always seemed to underperform. It’s frustrating. There are great ideas and adequate art, the dialogue and characters are solid…But it just never clicked. Marvel seemed to know that the team and the writer had potential–the Agents return soon in X-Men vs Agents of Atlas.
