One Avengers: Doomsday insider just shot down a major rumor regarding the film. Not only are Ryan Reynolds and Robert Downey Jr. not feuding, it would be almost impossible for them to do so in the first place.
Per People, a source close to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday production shot down rumors of an ongoing feud between Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds and returning Marvel Cinematic Universe icon Robert Downey Jr., who will portray Doctor Doom in the next MCU crossover film. The source reportedly noted that there is "zero bad blood" between the stars, largely because "the two have never met in person."
The return of Robert Downey Jr., who previously portrayed Tony Stark, better known as Iron Man, has been a major point of contention for fans of the MCU since the news was announced. Although the star's version of Doctor Doom has yet to make a proper MCU debut, fans did get to see the character during a post-credits sequence for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. While the scene in question only offered a small glimpse at the MCU's Doom, fans already know that they can expect big things from the iconic villain when Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters next year.
Apart from Downey's Doom, Avengers: Doomsday will see dozens of other cinematic superhero icons return to the silver screen, even those from far beyond the bounds of the MCU itself. On top of the likes of Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson, Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes, and Letita Wright's Shuri, Avengers: Doomsday will pave the way for the likes of The Fantastic Four to join the MCU proper, albeit through some particularly harrowing circumstances. Characters from Fox Studios' X-Men feature film series will also make their way into the wider MCU, as will more recent additions to the Multiverse like Channing Tatum's Gambit.
What Worlds Will Fans See Return in Avengers: Doomsday?

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige opened up about the events leading up to Avengers: Doomsday, the Multiversal Incursions that will largely serve as the crux of the film's story, and where they will take audiences in terms of individual locations across the Multiverse. "Only speaking to the [movie] we're working on now, shooting now, that is -- for people who know the comics and know the word incursions, those are universes coming together," Feige explained. "We will see, yes, we will see that universe. We will see this world that we've introduced, these sets... we're shooting on all the same sets that we built for Fantastic Four. And it is very fun."
Avengers: Doomsday is set to arrive in theaters on Dec. 18, 2026.
