The ego-fueled soccer phenomenon BLUE LOCK is back with even bigger goals. At the “BLUELOCK EGOIST FESTA 2025,” it was officially revealed that the hit anime will return for a third season, now in production and set to adapt the fan-favorite Neo Egoist League arc.

Based on Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura’s globally popular manga—currently boasting over 50 million copies in circulation—BLUE LOCK has become one of the most talked-about sports stories of its generation. The anime first aired in 2022, sparking a worldwide fandom and inspiring last year’s spinoff film BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI-. Season 2, BLUE LOCK VS. U-20 JAPAN, wrapped earlier this year to widespread acclaim.

Creators Kaneshiro and Nomura both expressed excitement about bringing the Neo Egoist League to life, promising even wilder, world-class rivals than fans have seen so far.

The festival also dropped another bombshell: BLUE LOCK is getting a live-action film adaptation. Produced by CREDEUS (Kingdom, Golden Kamuy), the movie will hit Japanese theaters in summer 2026 to coincide with the World Cup. Toho will distribute the film nationwide.

With a new season on the way and a live-action movie lined up, BLUE LOCK is leveling up to dominate both the anime world and the big screen.
