When we last saw Cable and Hope, they were having an adventure with X-Force. Having met people from the time period where she was born, Hope wants to stay with them–but Cable wants to keep time-jumping to protect her. Just before they time-jump, Hope throws a tantrum and breaks free of Cable’s grip–and the two become separated.
Hope ends up alone in the Stryfe timeline, two years earlier than Cable. She connects with a boy named Emil, who helps protect her from Bishop and then, when Cable finds her, helps protect Cable as well.

He dies in the end to stop a brood invasion and, once again, protect Hope.
This story is in an alternate future and doesn’t matter, but it does show that people are instantly drawn to Hope. She’s also older now, so she is taking an active part in her own destiny.
It’s a solid adventure from the extended alternate Stryfe/Cable futures. I dont’ really like those tales, but I am enjoying how Swierczynski is develping Hope as a character.
