After several years away, a traditional carnival will return to downtown Metropolis, IL as part of the annual Superman Celebration, restoring a long-missed element of the city's signature summer event. Coinciding with the celebration, the carnival will be set up in the downtown area along Metropolis Street and 4th Street, across from the Metropolis Public Library and operate from Thursday, June 11th through Sunday, June 14th.

Operated by Amusement Attractions, Inc., this year marks the company's first appearance at the Superman Celebration. The nationally recognized traveling amusement company brings more than 30 years of experience providing attractions for fairs and festivals across the country. Its debut in Metropolis comes as organizers reintroduce the carnival following a multi-year absence.

Visitors can expect a full midway experience featuring attractions for a wide range of ages, along with traditional games and food concessions designed to complement the Superman Celebration's broader schedule of events taking place throughout the city. Organizers say the carnival's return helps restore a familiar part of the celebration while enhancing the overall downtown experience for families, fans, and out-of-town visitors.

Drawing thousands of fans from around the world each June, the Superman Celebration features celebrity appearances from actors and comic creators, autograph sessions, Q&A panels, costume contests, vendor booths, comic art and memorabilia, family-friendly activities, and themed entertainment that celebrates Superman's impact on popular culture.

Additional details regarding carnival hours, ticketing, and wristband pricing will be announced closer to the event.
