DC Comics is setting up the Absolute Universe's very first crossover event, and it sounds absolutely amazing.

Per Popverse, DC Comics has unveiled the beginnings of the first major crossover event to hit the Absolute Universe. The crossover will see the events of Absolute Batman, Absolute Superman, and Absolute Wonder Woman converge for a story that has already been compared to 2025's Absolute Evil one-shot by none other than DC Comics Executive Editor Chris Conroy.

During an appearance at ComicsPRO, Conroy explained, "As I think you all know, we are very mindful about keeping the Absolute Universe sort of at the size it is, keeping it easy to understand, keeping it easy to onboard. We will have one other thing this year. It's the first Absolute Universe event. This will be in Q4. We're going to do it our way, the Absolute way."

Conroy elaborated on the anticipated entry point to the Absolute Universe crossover event. "This is going to be easy to understand, it's going to be easy to get on board, it’s not going to disrupt the stories," Conroy continued. "[The Absolute Universe event] is going to kind of build the universe in the same way that Absolute Evil did, so, as you can see, you get an incredible book like Absolute Green Arrow out of just the one-shot."

He then added, "You're gonna be very excited to see what we can do with the canvas of a full-event miniseries... This is going to tie the stories together in a way that I think people are going to get really, really, really pumped about. That is all I can say about it for now, but it is coming in a big way."

DC Comics' Absolute Universe Is Absolutely A Success

DC Comics' Absolute Universe line of titles has been a massive success all the way around since being introduced. In 2025, writer Scott Snyder and artist Nick Dragotta's Absolute Batman took 15 of the top 31 spots on ICv2's list of the bestselling comic books of the year, only being outpaced by the hit Deadpool/Batman #1 crossover anthology one-shot, which came in at number one.

Amidst the overwhelming success of the Absolute Universe as a whole, DC Comics is set to re-release 50 different titles next month. Among these are the first 14 issues of Absolute Batman, the first 11 of Absolute Wonder Woman, and the first 10 of Absolute Superman, all of which will be released on March 4. Absolute Flash #1-5, Absolute Martian Manhunter #1-6, and Absolute Green Lantern #1-4 reprints will all arrive in stores just two weeks later on March 18.

Fans can also look forward to getting ahold of hardcover editions of Absolute Superman Vol. 1: Last Dust of Krypton, Absolute Batman Vol. 1: The Zoo, and Absolute Wonder Woman Vol. 1: The Last Amazon on Free Comic Book Day (May 2). Each collected edition will also be available with an exclusive dust jacket cover illustrated by the legendary Jim Lee.

There is no set release date for the Absolute Universe crossover event just yet, but Absolute Universe comics can be found wherever DC Comics are sold.

The Justice League, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter, pose together on the Justice League of America Vol. 1 comic cover.
