
This was (yet another) attempt to bring a Golden Age forward to the 20th Century, with more violence and irony. It’s not awful, thanks to Robert Kirkman’s script and concept: Destroyer is dying and decides to kill all his aged enemies before he’s gone forever.
The problem is, the enemies are all new creations–none of them dip into the Golden Age comics. That kind of undermines the whole idea here.
Still, it’s an extremely violent romp. Lots of people like that. If you’re one of them, you’ll dig this, too, because it’s well executed (albeit by-the-numbers).

I don’t think Destroyer ever appears again in the 616, but I tagged him just in case.
