After a massively successful run, The Conjuring: Last Rites, also known as The Conjuring 4, will be released on digital platforms this Tuesday, October 7, 2025. That means the film arrives less than 45 days after its theatrical debut, making it available to audiences just in time for the Halloween season. Warner Bros. has also announced that the movie will be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on November 25.
The confirmed bonus features for the digital release include three featurettes: “Last Rites: An Era Ends” (8:45), “The Conjuring: Crafting Scares” (8:40), and “Michael Chaves: Believer” (7:04). In addition to the standalone release, fans can purchase a four-film “Conjuring timeline” collection on October 7, along with a nine-film box set covering the entire franchise. Both sets will also be available in physical editions on November 25.
For now, The Conjuring: Last Rites will be available through digital purchase or rental. The date for its release on subscription streaming has not been confirmed. The most likely option is HBO Max, which has recently premiered other Warner Bros. horror films such as Sinners and Final Destination Bloodlines. If Warner Bros. follows its usual release pattern, the streaming debut would fall in late November or December 2025, roughly 70 days after its theatrical opening.
The film has already made history at the box office. With $437 million in global ticket sales, it is now the highest-grossing entry in the Conjuring series and has claimed the top spot as the biggest horror release of all time. It also broke records for the largest horror opening day and opening weekend. While the commercial results were undeniable, critical response was mixed, but most reviewers praised the performances of Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as Lorraine and Ed Warren in their final case.
The official synopsis provided by Warner Bros. states: “The Conjuring: Last Rites delivers another thrilling chapter of the iconic Conjuring cinematic universe, based on real events. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return as Lorraine and Ed Warren in a powerful and spine-chilling addition to the global box office-breaking franchise.”
The franchise has remained a reliable draw at the box office for over a decade, showing that audiences still respond to its mix of faith-driven storytelling and horror spectacle. With the announcement of its digital and physical releases, fans will soon be able to revisit the Warrens’ final case from the comfort of home.
Behind the scenes, James Wan is still involved in the development of a TV series based on The Conjuring movies, currently in development at HBO Max. The show is expected to expand the narrative established in the films and remain within the same universe focused on the supernatural cases of Ed and Lorraine Warren. Writers Nancy Won, Peter Cameron, and Cameron Squires have been brought on board to lead the project as showrunners and writers.
So while The Conjuring movie franchise may be uncertain following the recent film, a TV series remains in active planning.
