Per Bleeding Cool, acclaimed writer and creator Geoff Johns has made what might just be a first-of-its-kind offer to comic book retailers. Reportedly, Johns has offered to personally buy back any copies of Trillion Dollar Kid #1 that remain unsold by the time the upcoming series' second issue arrives in stores.
While buy-back offers aren't unheard of in the realm of comics, they almost always come from the publisher rather than any specific creative. The fact that Johns is personally offering to buy back unsold copies of Trillion Dollar Kid #1, coupled with the specific timing the offer entails, has given readers and collectors alike just another reason to pick up the series' first issue when it arrives in just a few weeks.

Fans got their first full look at Trillion Dollar Kid back just a few weeks ago, with its early reveal coming with a wider look at the future of the Unbelievables Universe. Trillion Dollar Kid is set to not only introduce one of the Unbelievables Universe's most prominent figures in the form of the young Tommy Townsend III, but will set up its very first epic crossover event.
The official solicit synopsis for Trillion Dollar Kid from Image Comics and Ghost Machine reads, "Meet Thomas Noble Townsend III, the Trillion Dollar Kid. Money can't buy everything, but for a teen with unlimited resources and wealth, the unbelievable is never out of reach."
The solicit text continues, "On a search for those across the world who possess remarkable and sometimes inconceivable abilities and origins, Tommy's adventures begin as his hunt leads him to a pair of cosmic youngsters destined to rule heaven and hell, and a family from the far future hiding in our present. But as Tommy unlocks more of the unimaginable, will it lead him to what he's really searching for on this quest?"
What To Know About Trillion Dollar Kid

Unfortunately, the casts of these three series will be coming together to face off against a painfully familiar threat, and taking it down might just reshape everything that some of these heroes have set out to accomplish.
Despite the namesake, it sounds as if Tommy may encounter more than just an unfathomable amount of wealth. Geoff Johns' offer to buy back copies of his own work may emphasize how special this series may actually be.
