The 2026 Hamburg Family Fun Fest in Hamburg Township, MI will feature a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest gathering of people dressed as Superman, marking one of the most ambitious and high-profile moments in the festival's history. The record attempt is scheduled for Friday, June 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Manly Bennett Park, north of Ann Arbor, as part of the four-day community celebration.

Organizers expect hundreds of participants from across southeast Michigan and beyond to take part in the coordinated effort to surpass the current Guinness World Record of 867 people dressed as Superman. To be eligible for inclusion in the official count, participants must wear a Superman-themed costume that meets Guinness guidelines, including a blue shirt with the iconic "S" emblem and a red cape.

The world record attempt is the centerpiece of the festival's H.E.R.O. (Honoring Everyday Real-life Originals) World Record Challenge, which is designed to recognize everyday heroes throughout the community. The attempt will be conducted in accordance with Guinness World Records requirements, including controlled entry and exit procedures, official counting methods, and professional photo and video documentation to support the submission and verification process.

Now in its 20th year, the Hamburg Family Fun Fest is a long-standing summer tradition in Livingston County, featuring carnival rides, live entertainment, food vendors, and family-friendly activities. The addition of a Guinness World Record attempt is expected to elevate the 2026 festival with increased regional interest and media attention.

Community members, families, and visitors are encouraged to participate in the record attempt or attend the event to witness what could become a historic moment for Hamburg Township and the surrounding region.
