This is the story arc that affirms that Red Hulk is actually Bruce Banner’s long-term frenemy Thaddeus Ross. It’s also the story that introduces General Ross’ “Code Red” team. But they weren’t formed to kill Hulk. They were formed to kill Domino(?!)

During the first part of this arc, she sees Ross transform into Red Hulk, and in order to keep his secret identity, Ross hires a bunch of mercenaries to go kill Domino.
There are so many problems with this. Punisher is on the team and there’s simply no way he’d sign on for this. They try to explain it by having Ross offer Punisher a list of the identities of every mobster in witness protection but…How would General Ross even have such a list? Also, Elektra is on the team and she’s hardly one to sell herself to any client. And Thundra? Really?
Anyway, if you can put any knowledge you have about the character of each of these Code Red members, the romp is enjoyable enough.

Domino’s X-Force pals join in to help her so this is pretty much a free-for-all.

In the middle of it, Red She-Hulk debuts. I guess with the “who is Red Hulk” mystery solved, we now have to ponder about who is Red She-Hulk? Hint: If you think you know and that it’s obvious, you’re right.
ScreenshotThe big finale has a double-cross. Red Shulk is working with Doc Samson, who has stopped wearing his lightning bolt spandex and now looks kinda metal with an ’80s perm.

But like most of the issues in this series, it doesn’t go anywhere. Code Red breaks up after Ross can’t/won’t pay them. Most of them go their separate ways.
Again, turn off your brain and just look at the big muscles and punches and you’ll enjoy this. It’s a stupid and fun fight book.
