The following contains major spoilers for Iron Man #2, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
Iron Man just called out the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Cavalry for failing to stand up for the people S.H.I.E.L.D. let down.
Iron Man #2 finds the titular hero hard at work fighting to prevent the likes of Roxxon and A.I.M. from completely taking control of and dismantling his company — Stark Unlimited. To that end, Tony goes out of his way to ensure the destruction of a Roxxon pipeline running through the Chihuahua Desert, which in turn brings him to the attention of his fellow current member of the board at Stark Unlimited, Melinda May. Unfortunately, there is nothing Tony can say to make Melinda realize just how dire the situation truly is, nor how desperately he needs her help. What he can do, on the other hand, is call her out for failing to stop Orchis from using the very same company in danger today as its own personal Sentinel factory, and as harsh as his words might be, they only hit as hard as they do because they're true.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Melinda May, aka the Cavalry, made her debut on the pilot episode of 2013's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television series produced for ABC. Portrayed by Ming-Na Wen, Agent May became a fast-fan favorite, going on to appear in all but two episodes of the series across Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s entire seven-season run. In that time, audiences got to see Agent May take part in a variety of pulse-pounding missions, and even exist across multiple timelines courtesy of reality-altering epics and the introduction of Life Model Decoys later on in the series.
The Melinda May of the comics wouldn't make her debut until more than a year later in the pages of 2014's S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 by writer Mark Waid and artist Carlos Pacheco. Like the Melinda May of the MCU, this iteration of the character was a particularly gifted agent and close friend of Phil Coulson. Over the years, May proved herself to be an instrumental figure in a variety of circumstances, so much so that she quickly found work with the FBI, and later Stark Unlimited, in the wake of S.H.I.E.L.D. being dissolved as an organization.

As such, a variety of other, less benevolent organizations including A.I.M. and the Roxxon Corporation have set their sights on Stark Unlimited. This has driven Tony to seek out any help he can find in the hopes of staving off yet another takeover and having to watch his greatest inventions be weaponized agianst him once more.
