Justice League Joins Forces with Sonic The Hedgehog For Another Explosive Crossover

What's better than an epic comic book crossover? Nothing — the correct answer to that question is "nothing." With that in mind, the world can now begin preparing itself for DC Comics and SEGA America to join forces, once again, in a way not even the Justice League could've initially foreseen, teaming up with Sonic the Hedgehog and his band of legendary do-gooders.

For the second time, the two universes will collide within the DCU, thanks in large part to the demand of fans who so thoroughly enjoyed the events within DC x Sonic the Hedgehog in 2025. That demand is being met with a great reward, namely, a shiny new five-issue series that will truly unleash the powers of Team Sonic and the Justice League in their fight against Lex Luthor and Dr. Robotnik.

So if you missed the 2025 run, and you've ever wondered which speedster is the fastest in the land — The Flash or Sonic — it's high time you find out. That's only one part of the adventure to come when DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion #1 arrives though, beginning on May 5, 2026, with spectacularly vivid cover art from the following well-known creatives:

Justice League + Team Sonic = High Octane Action

To keep the good times rolling and, let's be honest, to avoid trying to fix what was never broken in the first place, DC and SEGA America are handing over DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion #1 to two of the names that made the original crossover such a runaway success in the first place.

It will be written by Ian Flynn, the beloved Sonic pen, and illustrated by Adam Bryce Thomas as he returns to join Flynn for what is expected to be an electric must-read, a five-part series that'll knock the Sonic rings and Chaos Emeralds out of any competing comic books this spring.

"I had an absolute blast the last time around, and I'm really happy that little tease we left at the end of the first crossover is finally coming to fruition," said Flynn. "I hope everyone enjoys this second go around as much as I did writing it!"

There can be no doubt whatsoever that fans are aching for this release, and thrilled to see it'll be orchestrated by Flynn and Thomas to ensure continuity from the previous version. The only thing left to do now is wait, but even that shouldn't stop pre-orders from flying into local shops.
