Apple TV released their latest trailer for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2, giving fans an intense look at the next chapter of the blockbuster Monsterverse. The main cast appeared on stage last week to showcase the upcoming season from Legendary Television, which continues the global story of humans living in a world shaped by giant monsters.

The trailer confirms appearances by both Godzilla and Kong, along with a new addition called Titan X. Apple described Titan X as “a living cataclysm,” a glowing, ocean-dwelling force with “awe and terror in equal measure.” The studio says this new creature will drive the central mystery of the season.

The first season followed two siblings uncovering their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch, which tracks the existence of Titans. Their search revealed a web of government secrets reaching back to the 1950s and linked to Army officer Lee Shaw, played by both Kurt and Wyatt Russell. Season 2 moves the story forward with Monarch’s survival—and possibly the fate of the world—at risk.

The new season sends its characters back to Skull Island, home of Kong, while introducing a hidden coastal village where a new creature emerges from the sea. The 10-episode season premieres Friday, February 27, 2026, on Apple TV, with new episodes released weekly through May 1. Analysts say the Monsterverse is one of the few shared universes outside Marvel that continues to grow in global popularity.

The cast includes Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett and Anders Holm. New cast members joining for Season 2 include Takehiro Hira, Amber Midthunder, Curtiss Cook, Cliff Curtis, Dominique Tipper and Camilo Jiménez Varón.

Following the success of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Apple is expanding the Monsterverse with new shows in development. The first spin-off will serve as a prequel starring Wyatt Russell as a younger Lee Shaw. He will also executive produce the series alongside showrunner Joby Harold, an Emmy-nominated producer. With several projects in motion, the Monsterverse appears to be strengthening its grip on the streaming landscape, one Titan at a time.
